Step-by-Step [How to Report your Marriage in Philippine Embassy in Norway - Swede-Pinay]

What is Report of Marriage (ROM)? Report of Marriage is a requirement for Filipino overseas who have contracted a marriage abroad whether to a fellow Filipino or a foreign spouse. Some of us who have gotten married overseas are unaware of this step. Some couples forget to process it and some tend to skip on doing it because it takes too much time, money and stressful days (I must say LOL!). It was a bit hassle, though, but in reality, doing this will save you from any trouble later on.

Just a heads-up guys! You should report your marriage within a year or it will be considered as late registration. You have to do it as in NOW!! don't waste time, because Report of Marriage (ROM) is one of the requirements needed for applying dual citizenship or if you want to change you Philippine passport to your married name.

I could only imagine the hassle my husband and I went through just to Report our Marriage in Phil. Embassy in Norway, whereas me was in the Philippines while him is in Sweden (we're back in LRD that time since my visa is already expired. We are in the process of applying my RP visa too and processing all the documents is like a pain in the A! ugh! so much stress that time and I'm glad that I get over it! ). Anyhow! I hope to reach out and help out people who are confused and clueless about the process. I hope my step by step procedure will help you out ๐Ÿ˜Š.

Since the Embassy of Philippines in Stockholm is now closed, we just; follow the instructions we found in the site of Philippine Embassy in Norway (Oslo). According to the instruction of the Philippine Embassy in Norway:

  • Check this site (below) for further information/REQUIREMENST and FEES of application.

TAKE NOTE: All documents NOT in English must be accompanied by an English translation. So kung hindi english ang Marriage Certificate mo, kailangan mo muna itong ipa-translate sa legal translator at ipa-notaryo at ipa-authenticate sa Ministry of Foreign Affairs kung saang bansa kayo kinasal. If everything is set at completo na lahat pwede na kayo magpasa ng documents nyo.

  • Check my post (below) for further information how we translate our Swedish MC

After we gathered all the important documents needed, we sent our marriage certificate (English version and Swedish version along with other required documents) in Embassy of Philippine in Oslo Norway. This is how the Report of Marriage looks like (picture below).

The Embassy will forward one copy of the Report of Marriage to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in the Philippines. Another copy will be kept as part of the Embassy’s records and a third copy will be given to the applicant.

They will return back one copy of your ROM na may signature and seal na natatak na siya (that is your own personal copy)

Dampalitan Beach, Padre Burgos, Quezon

Visiting Dampalitan Beach in Quezon Province was a great experience, along with my office friends and newly found friends from SFC  hehe :). I thought, camping can only be done on the mountains, but it's not! We had a great camping experience in Damapalitan beach.
Boat rates!
Our first destination was in Dampalitan Island where we had our overnight stay. The Island was just 10 to 20 minutes boat ride away from the main port and from afar the beach looks really inviting with its white sand and crystal-clear water plus the tropical view of the island with lot of coconut palms and evergreen trees.

Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountain of Barangay Matutinao, Badian Cebu. From City proper it will takes about three hours bus aching ride to get there but if you have your own car or rented van I guess your time travel will takes only an hour or two. I so love this place, the water is so clear and cold.

This peaceful place is really worth a visit where you can enjoy many waterfalls!! yeah right! Kawasan has many waterfalls. From the entrance you will have to walk uphill to get to the first waterfall (picture above) is the largest one and on peak season it usually crowded. You need to climb uphill to see the second falls and the other remaining falls. Take note for the environmental fee cost 10 php per person. Creative Mind : How to make DIY Wedding table arch :)

I just want to share how I made my wedding arch I used in my wedding day :) Yeah! right! its kinda late again! but anyhow I know I can give ideas for everyone right?.

Using a wedding arch is very useful and it helps your wedding reception as beautiful as ever.  I know wedding arch can be made from different kind of things whatever you want or what theme you have. You may choose bamboo, wood, flowers, vines and metal  etc!. I choose metal as a  frame for my wedding arch and i just added plastic vines and plastics flowers on it.
this is how it looks like!
The arch must be eye catching with good theme related on it. Do not overdo with your decorations in this case as it will not look good. Make it short and simple as possible. If you have more time before your wedding, you can even DIY the wedding arch yourself :). Just like what my arch I put purple Christmas light (picture above) because using lights can also enhance the decor a bit further :)

10 Golden Rules for staying happy with the One You Love

Just want to share this to you guys! I found it over the net while browsing .. :) worth reading stay inlove

10 Golden Rules for staying happy
with the One You Love

1. First and foremost, love each other. Realize how lucky you are to be in love with someone who loves you. Say, “I love you” often and in different ways. Surprise each other with gifts of praise to show your love. Remember that love grows in an atmosphere of freedom and trust, not from restraint and obligation. Do things to keep your love and romance new and alive. Don’t take love for granted, ever. It’s such a blessing.

2. Listen objectively to each other, as you would to a friend. Acceptance is a key to understanding and a buffer for tension and resentment. Don’t take things personally; give each other the right to have different opinions, the right to disagree. You don’t want anyone to control your feelings, so don’t try to own someone else’s, not even the feelings of the one you love.

3. Never stop treating each other like sweethearts. Talk to each other as sweethearts. Do things that sweethearts do. Work together in achieving your goals. Do things just to make the other one feel loved, especially when he or she might be feeling a little down. Take pride in the way you look and act, for yourself and for your partner, but never let external values have more importance than the internal feelings of your heart.

4. Take care of each other. Go to the doctor with each other. Put the other one first, but don’t neglect your own needs either. Do the things that show that you’re interested in your partner’s needs and desires and problems.

5. Look to each other for help. Don’t let your problems or concerns get out of hand and make you go in opposite directions. Be joyful that you’ve each made a commitment to the other…through sickness or health, poverty or wealth, or whatever comes along. You’re in this life together. Be thankful.

6. Talk about things together the way you would talk with a friend. Absolutely refuse to say anything negative about your partner. Share your most important secrets, and never betray the secrets of your partner; treat them as almost sacred. Keep your own identity, but walk together as one. Don’t ever give up on your love.

7. Settle the fact that you’ve made your choice and you’re no longer looking for anyone else. Don’t flirt. Think of the consequences. Don’t even consider it.

8. Be in agreement about how your money is spent. Big items should have the approval of both. Talk about how to manage your finances.

9. When in doubt about your actions, ask yourself how you would want to be treated and then act accordingly. If you’ve argued, never go to sleep without asking the other’s forgiveness, even when you don’t feel like it or want to. Be faithful about this; you won’t be sorry. Do what will make you both the happiest in the long run and be the best for your relationship.

10. Have fun!

Bohus Fortress - Kungรคlv, Bohuslรคn, Sweden

Bohus Fortress
A happily ever after for me :). I so love castle they are so stunning and rich in history. Look at this ruins of Bohus fortress, still standing tall after almost 700 years of it's era. The walls looks strong and brave made out of grey stone and bricks. It was under renovation when we went there :( little bit sad but at least Matt and I we're able to check and roam around the place *wink!

Whenever we went to Gothernburg, we always saw this fortress from the highway. We've never been there although we've always passed on it so many times ( hmm how many times I did went to Ullared?? *counting!!) hahahahaha :)

when we get there, the Castle is under renovation so what we did is just roam and check the outside views :)

My Big day... My Wedding in Swedish style ๐Ÿ˜Š

Yes!!
I could't wait to do a blog post about my wedding day and share everything with you guys ๐Ÿ˜Š

"Kรคrleken รคr tรฅlmodig & God. Allt bรคr den, allt tror den, allt hoppas den, allt uthรคadar den"

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
New International Version (NIV)

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trust, always hopes, always perseveres.

My wedding is a traditional church wedding and I'm glad that Matt and I is Catholic, so it's easier for us to choose the church wedding. Marrying in other country is quite confusing for me because of lot of rules, regulations and guidelines to be considered off.

Our wedding took place at Vรคstra Tunhems Church.
The church is located in Vรคnersborgs municipality in Vรคstra Gรถtaland country. This church is really beautiful with medieveal touches. I fell in love on the ceiling with paintings, the altar and the pulpit. It remind me the old Betis Church/Parish Church of St. James the Apostle in Guagua, Pampanga

Let me just share you guys, before you can get married in Sweden, specially if you're not a Swedish citizen you must first apply for a marriage licences and they called it Hindersprรถvning. Just set an appointment or simply visit "skatteverket" (swedish tax authority) to file for a marriage licence. Don't hesitate to ask everything because they're willing to help you. It will takes a week before you get a result just make sure that all your requirements is original and updated. We did that and it took I guess ...hmmm 3 weeks before we received the good news and it was "approved".

Anyway, after that we arranged to meet the priest of the church and discuss to HER our wedding plans. Yup! Her...In my surprise, our priest is actually a woman and it really amazed me :) We ended up sitting with her having coffee for well over an hour, and we talked to her about everything from how we met to what marriage means to us. It turned out wonderful. She was warm, friendly and very accommodating. We like her instantly and how we felt comfortable saying her our love story and plans together. We decided to have mixed English/Swedish ceremony because most of his relatives and visitors are pure Swedish.
Inside the Church. The Priest gave us her advice, said her prayers, sang psalms asking God for her blessing.
You may now kiss the bride!!!
In Swedish wedding, there are a few things that are a bit different. First, I noticed that before the wedding, everyone assembles outside the church and walks arm in arm to get into the church. As I arrived in the Church, they let me stay in a small room to have my last minute retouch. :P . Second, Matt and I walk down the aisle together. I don't wear garter belt (yung nilalagay sa legs ng bride). I didn't insist to have/wear it because people would might just be little freaked out if they saw Matt rooting around under my dress searching for that garter belt  and throw it... hahahaha

When the wedding is over, everyone filled out in the same way we went in, arm and arm again ๐Ÿ˜Š lol!, they waited us outside the church. They individually congratulated us and took some photos before going to the reception.

The reception was held in Sรคrestad Bygdegรฅrd they called it community center, we rented the whole place and with the help of my creative mind Lol! hehe I was able to make it much more like a wedding reception. Yup! I decorated it myself, I do research online hehehe. (click here for my DIY giveaways)

I did my table arrangements and decorations. I know it's simple but for me its perfect ๐Ÿ˜Š

"I did a few DIY projects that I found over the net (see picture above). Matt and I did all the planing ourselves, with the help of his family. His mom was the one who made my wedding dress. I made about 100 tissue flower and pompoms in different sizes, they build the table arch and I decorated it with some plastic flowers, violet Christmas light and vines. I wrote all the addresses on our invitations and sewed a linen flower for wedding dress"๐Ÿ˜Š

My cake is missing Lol!! still on the fridge!!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š  oh my princes cake Lol
I like princess cake and I requested it as my wedding cake ๐Ÿ˜Š It's home made and so perfect!!
Matt grandmother played Nyckelharpa
It was very structured and very formal dinner, SKร…L!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š
My wedding favor ๐Ÿ˜Š
I also altered a few wedding tradition I knew like opening our gifts in front of our visitors and we cut our cake together. I skipped throwing my bouquet.

Because my family and friends from the Philippines couldn't make it, we're planning on having another 2nd wedding when we come home. It'll be fun to see what come up with for my Pinoy style wedding ehehehe. I know the difference were so many, but in the end, the wedding are still the same. It's about bringing out the families together, with his relatives and with his friends. The fact that they spend their time to share the special moment with us. Thank you to every single person who was involved in making our special day more incredible than I ever could have dreamed of... SkรฅL!!!! ๐Ÿ˜Š hehehehe
