Visiting Dampalitan Beach in Quezon Province was a great experience, along with my office friends and newly found friends from SFC hehe :). I thought, camping can only be done on the mountains, but it's not! We had a great camping experience in Damapalitan beach.
Boat rates! |
Our first destination was in Dampalitan Island where we had our overnight stay. The Island was just 10 to 20 minutes boat ride away from the main port and from afar the beach looks really inviting with its white sand and crystal-clear water plus the tropical view of the island with lot of coconut palms and evergreen trees.

Well guys, If you have been traumatized with the oh so jelly (jellyfish) before hehehe, I'll tell you!! beware of this small little creatures.. JELLYFISH!! You will never enjoy swimming there's a lot of jelly fish and sea urchin in this beach. One of my friend got stung by a jelly fish and left a mark on his arm....just to share :) so beware! 😉 But don't worry they put an area where to swim and its protected by netting to keep the jelly fish away.
1st day at Dampalitan beach |
I'm so excited setting up our tent :) |
If you wish to stay for an overnight you'll have to pay 200 each per head plus 850-1k pesos for the cottages depends on the size of the cottage. No electricity, There is a small store with overrated price of goods, no water (limited) and the tricky part is there are only two restrooms in the whole island so expect the unexpected. If you're a maarte type this island is not for you :) Remember that they only have the basic shower needs and the water is limited (you really need clean water (for your bath so you can sleep peacefully! hahaha). You need to reserve a bucket full of water ahead of time before enjoying the beach or else you will take your bath using a mineral water u can buy in the store hehe (45 pesos for 1 Liter). I recommend buying a drum of water and share it with your friends (much cheaper than buying per bucket) 60 php per bucket/ 500 php for a DRUM-ful of clean water.

Great morning ! having coffee at the beach hehehe :) |
Sand is good, creamy white and can you see the protective net for jellyfish (upper left) |
What is that!!!!:) |
you can only see this rocky part of Dampalitan when the tide is low :) |
Snorkeling is not outstanding here with only a few fishes are visible and they are so tiny pa!. It seems like the corals here have been destroyed by illegal fishing you will noticed lots of broken corals when the tide is low.
Try to stroll around the island and enjoy the sunset!!
Overall this beach is good for a camping site and staying in the island is safe since there's a caretaker looking around the campers :)
