Well, my last STEP before I say "bye Pinas!". When I got my residence card the consulate reminds me to attend a seminar at CFO (Commission on Filipinos Overseas) to get the CFO CERTIFICATE and EMIGRANT STICKER on my passport (REQUIRED and its a must!!). They inform me that the immigration officer at the airport will check this document together with my visa before my departure so I need to secure and provide these documents.
I wanted to be ready with all the important documents so I apply for my schedule instantly hahaha because, I didn't want to experience being held for questioning on the day of my departure which is too much hassle or might get worst to be offloaded on my plane!.. which I don't want to happen on me lol 😃
For those who don't know what is CFO means, it stands for Commission on Filipino Overseas. As Filipinos going abroad as fiance/es, spouses or other partners of foreign national is required to attend Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) in order to get the CERTIFICATE and CFO STICKER. Ibig sabihin pag ikaw ay may fiance or nakapag-asawa ng foreigner under ka dito.
When I attend this seminar seriously, I've learned a lot. This seminar is really helpful, especially to the first time emigrants like me. They show and tackle every aspect of having a foreigner husband/partners. They explains a bit of immigration process and many related topics about inter marriage, violence, rights, life abroad and culture and stuff.
Based on my experience on CFO its really easy provided that you have all your documents ready!!. Because nowadays, CFO has an ONLINE APPOINTMENT SYSTEM and they will not allowed walk-in applicants ;)

Wala po kasing jeep na nadaan mismo sa tapat ng building nila unless meron kayong sariling sasakyan or magtataxi kayo hehe.
If sasakay po kayo ng PNR tren (PACO STATION ang baba nyo) from there pwede nyo na lakarin (tatawid lang po kayo sa kabilang kalsada na pa Quirino :) (sundan ang kulay dilaw na arrow)sobrang lapit lang nya. Yung kulay dilaw na star yun ang CFO Bldg. Kung titignan nyo malapit lang sxa kung lalakarin :) plus 10pesos lang pamasahe sa PNR tren hehe
If galing kayo sa Pedro Gil Taft sakay kayo ng jeep na papuntang San Andres, Sta Ana or Guadalupe-Ayala Makati pero bababa po kayo sa may Quirino ave. (sa may kantong kanto po) at lakarin nyo nalng (sundan ang kulay yellow na arrow)
Reserve and Register online to attend the Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) in person. Choose your preferred office:
NO more FIRST-COME-FIRST-SERVE-BASIS. BUT!! even if you have already your schedule, you must arrive 1 hour earlier for the registration and picture taking. Marami ring tao ang nakaschedule kaya mabuti nang maaga ka sa pila ;)
NOTE* This Online Appointment System is applicable for Manila Office and CEBU office also. As of Dec 1, 2014, those who wish to attend the Guidance and Counseling Program at the CFO-Cebu extension office must set an appointment online too :).

If you have your visa already, you will get your SEMINAR CERTIFICATE and EMIGRANT STICKER in just ONE DAY so easy! right?.
But, if you are still waiting for your visa or if it's still on process you will only get your seminar certificate and you'll need to go back again at the CFO Office to get your Emigrant sticker, only if you can show them your valid visa and the receipt. If wala pa kayong Visa pwede nyo namang kuhanin ang Emigrant Sticker nyo sa Airport na lang kung paalis na kayo ng Pilipinas ( pero kung ako sa inyo balikan nyo nalng sa CFO office yung Emigrant Sticker nyo once nakuha nyo na ang visa nyo para hindi na maging hassle pa kung sa araw ng alis nyo ito kukunin, mabuti nang maging handa kesa magkaproblema pa).
ON-SITE or WITH FACE TO FACE TRANSACTION (R&R)
All Filipinos going abroad as spouses, fiancé(e)s and other partners of foreign nationals, former Filipino citizens or dual citizens are required to undergo the mandatory Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO) Guidance and Counseling Program (GCP) in order to secure the CFO Digital Certificate. It specifically provides a venue where they can express and discuss their particular concerns about migration and various areas in their relationships such as communication barrier, financial management, personality and cultural differences, sexual relationship, among others.
Clients are expected to make a reservation and registration online to receive a barcoded form which will indicate the appointment time, date, location of the office and other necessary information about their visit to CFO.
👉 What are the requirements? (update 2023)
The following are the GCP primary requirements:
1. Barcoded Confirmation form of GCP Appointment
2. Original valid passport and additional two (2) valid IDs;
3. Original valid visa and Confirmation of Permanent Residence (for Canada-bound only);
4. Petitioner’s passport copy or one (1) valid ID; and
5. Philippine Statistics Authority(PSA) Marriage certificate in security paper (if married in the Philippines);
6. Report of Marriage in Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) security paper (if married overseas)
Since there is a one on one interview with the counselor just make sure that you bring all your documents and be armed with it hehe 😉. Make sure also to completely filled out the forms and be confident with your answers. (Make sure you know your HUSBAND MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME, HIS WORK, HIS EDUCATIONAL ATTAINMENT and so on so fort!). Don't leave any blank on the form and complete all the documents. They may ask you for a lot of things and they only wanted to make sure that you are physically and emotionally prepared on moving-on on your new life. Don't be nervous as its not complicated interview just like the one we did when we are applying for our visa 🙊 its so easy.
Additional documents may be required in the event that the counselor / facilitator determines it to be essential to complete the guidance and counseling process. It is advised for all the GCP applicants to prepare the following documents in advance (if applicable to them):
● Divorce decree/certificate of Filipino spouse or foreign spouse (if previously married)
● Annulment papers of Filipino spouse or foreign spouse (if previously married)
● Proof of residency/Alien Registration Card-ARC of foreign spouse
● Proof of relationship (pictures together, e-mails, among others)
● Death certificate of Filipino spouse or foreign spouse (if widowed)
● Certificate of family relations / registration of foreign spouse
● Proof of Civil status or Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR)
● Valid no criminal records certification/clearance or any equivalent document to indicate lack of criminal/derogatory record
●Documents in foreign language must be officially translated to English
The CFO Seminar comes first and after completing it, you will get your CERTIFICATE AND RECEIPT. You will to pay Php 400 at the GF area sticker and Certificate. If you don't have your visa just save your receipt and show them when you get back for your EMIGRANT STICKER.
This is how Emigrant Sticker looks like and they will put it on to your passport and please before you leave the CFO office make sure na tama yung details na nakalagay sa sticker at sa certificate nyo baka sa sobrang excited nyo eh hindi nyo na tinignan at nagmadali na kayo umuwi. If ever na may mali sa spelling ng pangalan nyo just inform them agad agad.)
REMINDER: Ang Guidance and Counseling Certificate po natin ay for life na siya/ walang expiration date kaya huwag nyo po siyang IWAWALA at HUWAG na HUWAG ninyo po itong ila-laminate or plastic covered when presenting to CFO,DFA, BI sa airport or other relevant agencies (May selyo/SEAL po kasi ito kaya yun po ang i-chcheck nila).

whats the difference between GCP and PDOS? If i would attend for GCP should i also attend for PDOS? Im so confused of these seminars. thanks

GCP is for spouses and fiancees po (seminar po yan.. makakauha ka ng certificate) if you have your visa or residence visa makukuha mo kagad yung CFO sticker mo...PDOS is simply for Filipino emigrants..same lang po yon na seminar.... If mag g-GCP yon nari po yun...wag ka na maconfused ;)

(better na dalhin mo na rin ;) para safe hehehe)

Wala nang tanong sakin.. nilagy ko kasi sa departure card is return residence .. kasi yun namn talga ang reason ko dahil residence visa ang dala ko.. tapos ayun check lang yung papel..

Gud pm po... paano po kung nagkamali ang sticker na inilagay ng cfo manila sa passport....immigrants to u.s. kasi ung nephew ko pero canada ung nailagay nila...kailangan po bang ipaayos uli ito or makakahadlang ba ito para makaalis ng bansa ung nephew ko na 19 yrs old lang....
ReplyDeleteI think dapat pinacheck nyo pu yan bago kayo umalis sa CFO office kasi if mali papalitan naman nila yan.. di ko lang alam kung may babayaran kung magkano... kasi baka ma-question naman yung pinsan nyo sa imigration sa airport at mahold dahil sa maling CFO sticker...mahirap na.. (sobrang higpit pa naman sa airport payo ko lang po). kung hindi pa naman sxa aalis better to go back again sa CFO or tawagan sila to inquire po about dyan
DeleteHi, I'm a Filipino citizen married to a Canadian national for almost 2 years now and we're still waiting for my PR visa to get me to Canada. My husband and I are planning to go on a tour to Singapore this summer. I obtained my CFO guidance and counselling certificate prior to my passport application (which reads "Valid for travel to Canada" btw, idk if this will be an issue since our destination is Singapore?) and I've read that the CFO sticker is only required if you're immigrating to your husband's country, i wouldn't be needing the CFO sticker when we travel to Singapore would I? :) Also, I am currently unemployed and I've read a lot of a stories about passengers getting offloaded because they're unemployed, what are my chances of getting offloaded when I'm travelling with my husband? I look forward to reading your reply or from anyone here who went through the same ordeal, thanks in advance!! :)
ReplyDeleteyup ate hindi nyo po kelangan ng CFO sticker papuntang Singapore kasi pupunta lang namn po kau dun as a tourist/tour/vacation so hindi po nila kayo qquestionin (bsata sa departure card po namn may nakalagay naman po kung ano purpose of travel so if travel/pleasue/tour lang namn hindi ka nila hahanapan ng CFO sticker unless sa Canada na ang punta mo po ;)

BTW ako nga unemployed nung nagpunta ako sa Bangkok para lang sa biometric process ko for my residence card muntikan na ako maoffload dahil nga wala ako mapakitang bank statement / tapos di pa ganon kalaki pocket money ko plus kasama ko pa yung family ko mother/sister/pamagkin/at isang friend (complete with returned ticket, travel itinerary, hotel reservation lahat) nahold kami but then... yung second officer na nagcheck samin mabait (thanks GOD) nakahabol kami sa flight namin.. siguro nga tsambahan nalang sa magchcheck sayo :) pero wag ka kabahan!

ReplyDeleteGreat post!.. Tanong lang sana ako about the requirements for the GCP. Papayagan ka ba nila mag seminar if yung marriage certificate na hawak ko is from abroad? Hindi pa kasi namin na register ung marriage with NSO and honestly hindi ko alam until nabasa ko requirements for this GCP. Strict ba sila sa ganun? Or they would allow me basta I have any other proofs na married kame? May visa na kase ako eh and I would not want to be delayed just because of this seminar. Thanks!

Kasi if wala ka pang NSO Marriage contract pwede mo ipakita yung ORIGINAL REPORT OF MARRIAGE nyo from Phil. Embassy. (pag meron kang report of marriage from embassy ibig sabihin on-process na yung marrige record nyo from Phil embassy-to-DFA-to-NSO kaya ok lang kahit sabihin mo na wala ka pang NSO Marriage contract at ipresent mo yung repeort of marriage mo instead of NSO Marriage contract.. [waah magulo ba??] nakalagay kasi sa site nila :
IF MARRIED: certified true copy and photocopy of marriage contract on security paper from the National Statistics Office,
OR Local Civil Registry Offices;
OR original and photocopy of marriage contract (report of Marriage) duly authenticated by the Philippine Embassy
/Consulate (if married abroad)
hahahahaha di ko kasi sure if okey walng NSO Marriage certificate/ or kung okey lang na yung Marriage contract nyo from abroad. Yung sakin kasi inantay ko talga na marelease yung NSO Maarige contract ko.. kinulit kulit tawagan ng asawa ko yung DFA para lang malaman if nasa NSO na yung marriage contract.
naku magulo ba? better call the cfo office para malaman kung pwede kasi di ko rin po sure.. :) basta yung alam ko is that kahit yung report of marriage.... ;)
thanks again Michelle for your reply. Anyways, I completed my GCP seminar and got my CFO sticker today and fortunately, hinde sila naging strict about the NSO authenticated marriage cert. Binanggit parin nila yung about NSO but I said its not available (since hinde ko nga na register ung marriage abroad) and provided my other marriage cert. and other requirements. Now I'm relieved :) I just have to comply with the Report of Marriage some other time. Thanks again!

Bago ka magseminar requirements yung passport kaya unahin mo muna magrenew bago ka magseminar po.

Hello po, halos kaparehas kami mg situation ni ate na almost 2 years na kasal sa kantang canadian citizen. Kaso lng Hong Kong amg destinatiom namin. Tas fiance ko lng siya. Ako ang nagbook ng ticket dito sa Pilipinas gamit ang pera niya tas pati na rin sa hotel booking is under my name. Mayroon na po akong round trip ticket at affidavit of support from him and some documents po na needed pa . Iyon nga lng wala akong CFO. Kailangan ko po bang kumuha? Two weeks nlng po bibiyahe na ako . Tumigil muna kami sa pag apply ng visa para Canada kasi two times na akong narefused. Wala po akong trabaho pero may anak. Sa narinig ko CFO is a must. Pano po yan, kukuha nlng ba ako? Kahit na nakalagay sa departure card na for pleasure and holiday lng, tas fiance ko ka meet. Baka hihingian nila ako kahit hindi Canada ang destination ko. Ano sa tingin niyo po? Sana may kaparehas ng sitwasyon ko na makapagbibigay sa akin ng tulong. Please po.

kelangan nyo lang po ang cfo certificate at sticker ay kung magmimigrate ka na sa asawa mo po sa canada ;) .. kung ang punta mo namn po eh para lang magbakasyon/trip sa ibang bansa (hongkon) eh hindi namn po nila hahanpin yun unless sa canada ka na talga pupunta (meaning du ka na titira/may residence visa ka na)... tska pag balak mo kumuha ka ng CFO eh pwede naman ... certificate lang makukuha mo.. tska dapat eh on process na ang VISA application mo for Canada (sa asawa mo) kasi babalik ka for your sticker if meron ka na candian visa.

Sorry ngayun lng ako nakareply. Maraming maraming Salamat po ate Michelle.. naiintindihan ko na at tsaka yan naman talaga ang intindi namin about sa CFO. Dami mga lnh mga links na nakakapaglilito sa akin. Sa visa ko naman ate, kailangan lng naming maghanda ng mga documents(like marriage certificate) para maiwasan na namin ang marefused. Balak ko sanang pumunta ngayong araw sa CFO -CEBU pra magtanong pero dahil nakuha ko na ang sagot sayo ate. Maraming Salamat po.
ReplyDeleteabout applying for your visa eh depende sa Embassy yan kung anong proseso nila at kung ano ang requirements na kailangan nila po like sabi mo nga sa Canada yung asawa mo ;) (Yung mga links na nakikita mo at nababasa mo eh based sa kung anong experience at additional information lang na mai-share ng iba /just to give you an idea.) MagStick ka lang sa site ng CFO at site ng Embassy mo kung ano kelangan nila (andun naman lahat step by step at kung anong updates).

Tama nga po kayo . Depende po talaga sa kung anung embassy ang mga requirements na kailangan ko. Tungkol naman po sa CFO kumuha nalng po ako ng appointment para maka attend sa seminar kaso nga lng the day before my flight . Sana makuha ko ang ceritificate ng araw na iyon. Tanong ko lng po sana if ano ba ang mga other documents needed para sa pagcomply ng certificate. Meron na po akong, birth cert. ng fiance ko, passport copy, divorce decree, pati stamped ng passport niya at affidavit of legal capacity to marry. May kulang Pa ba? Dapat po bang english? Pano kung french lng?Ok na ba yon? Tanung ko din po if ano ano ang mga tanung na nasa councelling form na dapat i filled up ng maigi? I am hoping po kasi na magiging madali para sa akin amg pagkuha ng GCP kasi pagkatapos aalis na ako maaga papuntang airport. First time traveller po pala ako at unemployed kaya takot po akong maoffload..

If ang purpose mo sa thiland eh wedding (not sure kung ano hahanapin sayo sa immigration sa pinas baka hanapan ka pa ng ibat ibang papel / hindi AKO SURE ha kasi di pa naman ako nagpakasal sa thailand lol :)) pero kung ang purpose mo eh travel/pleasue/tour lang namn ( Sa immigration need mo magpakita ng travel itinerary mo. Basta meron kang means financially na maipakita sa kanila (pocket money/hotel reservation/travel itinerary/ return ticket/credit card etc )

(kasi magkaibang bansa namn yung india sa UAE) if ilalagay nila eh ibang bansa sa kjng anong hawak mo baka maquestion ka sa airport kasi iba yung nakalagay sa certificate mo at sa sticker mo..

ReplyDeleteeto po yung tinatawag nilang other documents / other documents na HINAHANAP LANG nang counselor lalo na KUNG yung asawa mo or IKAW ay Annulled/Divorce kasalukuyang may asawa or hiwalay na. Pero if HINDI kayo parehong Annulled or Divorce eh stick ka lang sa kung ano ang requirements nila ;) hindi namn po kelangan ng NBI/ hinahanap lang naman yung other ducments na yan kung may problem po :)

ReplyDeleteApproved na yun application ko last Friday and next ay dapat punta na ako ng Bangkok for the biometrics. Kaso po, ayaw akong i-clear ng OB ko for travel at the moment kasi nagkaprob pagbubuntis ko. Bed rest muna ako for now and we are expecting makakabyahe ako to Sweden by July. I heard sa special cases like mine lalo na ayaw namin maabutan ako 8 months preggy dito sa Pinas, may option to skip yun biometrics sa Bangkok. Instead, pwede daw ako mag-apply ng D Visa to Sweden tapos sa Stockholm na kukunin yun biometrics ko and residence permit card when I get there.
Ang tanong ko lang po, may idea ka po ba if mabibigyan pa rin ng CFO sticker kung D Visa lang or talagang dapat residence permit card ipapakita?

(1 yr valid yun diba) kung ang payo naman sayo sa consulada eh dito ka na magpabiometric pwede namn po talag yun (rare case to case talga) kaya siguro pinag aaply ka ng D visa for meantime.

Going to new york pala, Im 18 years old and would travel alone. Ano po ba yung requirement na dadalhin ko? And also, magrebook na po ba muna ako then seminar sa CFO, orseminar then rebook? 3) about namn po sa pag apply ng visa (meaning hindi ka pa nakakapag apply?) Hindi ko po kasi sure kung ano requirement na kailangan ng embassy nyo nyo *iba-iba kasi ang requirements depende sa embassy :( check mo po yung site ng embassy mo para malaman mo what requirements nila.. at process :)

(one day tapos mo yan ) yung about sa itatanong sayo .. depende kasi kung ao itanong eh like about sa iyo at sa kanya lang namn ang itatanong. :)

ReplyDeleteyup ate online na po sila ngayon to get a schedule kaya hindi na ganun kahirap gaya dati.... sana po pala nabasa nyo na itong blog ko before para nagka idea na si hubby dati... anyway mabilis lang namn po yun *no worry :) (sabihan nyo po si hubby nyo na i check mabuti yung mga nakalagay sa sticker at sa certificate na tama lahat ng information, country, name...etc! wag sxa aalis sa office ng hindi ayos kung may mali at baka magkaproblem pa goodluck po!)

yup makukuha mo kagad yung seminar certificate pagkatapos ng seminar at kung may visa ka narin makukuha mo rin yun that day pero kung wala kang visa babalikan mo yung sticker ulit once meron ka nang visa na mapakita sa kanila..

mabilis lang ang seminar .. :) i think matagal na ang 5 oras hahaa depende kasi nagkakatalo pag kukuhanin na yung certificate at sticker .. may pila ;) hahaha pero matatapos mo namn yun in one day... minsan maghapon lalo na kung madaming tao
DeleteTIP KO LNG : make sure na tama lahat ng nakalagay sa certificate mo at sticker :) check it first bago ka umuwi ng bahay mo na walang maling spelling or date... baka kasi sa sobrang excited mo eh hindi mo na ncheck.. (magkaproblem ka pa ng malaki) other than that eh wala na hehehe ENJOY YOUR TRIP :)

The sticker is only for emigrant, right? so if the Filipino partner/fiance/fiancee is just going to travel in hi/her country, he/she just need to secure CFO. just CFO. is it right? has anyone mentioned this during the seminar?Thanks.

Kailangan ba completed ko na yan at naprint out ko na before going there or doon mismo sa office nagbibigay sila ng ganyang form? When I tried to fill out the form onlline, yong mga fields that require number data kasi bumabalik lang sa zero. So kung ieenter ko yong Birthdate ko 0 lang pagsisave na yong doc. Do you have any idea about it? Or pwedi ring iprint out and then fill out (handwritten)?

Nire-require po kasi sakin ng DFA ang CFO Certificate para makapag-apply ng passport, first time ko po kasi kukuha ng passport ko.. tanong ko lang po sana kung ano yung "other documents" na posibleng hanapin sakin sa CFO? Ayoko na po kasi sana pabalik-balik kasi hindi po ako taga-Manila and hassle po pag hindi ko matapos ito. I will be having my seminar po on Aug. 7.. Sana po masagot nyo. Salamat po.

former Filipino citizen po kasi asawa ko pero Canadian citizen na po sya, i went to DFA nung July 22 po kaso ayun po sabi nung babae is required ako kumuha ng CFO certificate para makapag-apply ng passport and yes po gagamitin ko po yung last name ng asawa ko. thank you po sa reply sobrang worried lang po kasi ako since wala akong ka-idea idea about sa procedure nila. first marriage ko naman po and wala naman any complications so sana nga matapos ko in a day at hindi ako ma-hold haha. maraming salamat po talaga. oh and pwede po ba malaman kung ano yung mga nakalagay sa form po?

ask ko lang if kailangan ko ulet kumuha ng cenomar naipasa ko kaz sa us embassy yung original copy ko. Or needed ba ng cfo manila ang cenomar for k1 visa?
ReplyDeleteI think they need the Cenomar kung hindi pa kayo kasal (fiancee or mag bf, gf palang kayo ... dalhin mo lahat ng original documents mo dahil hahanapin din yun) nung ako pumunta don isa lang din Cenomar na dala ko...since marriage na ako at may MC na ako hindi na nila kinuha pero tinignan nila ;).. they will not take your original copy pati MC etc.. ect.. kukunin nila is zerox copies/photocopy lang po.... kaya better photo copy all your documents bago ka pumunta don -- meron namn nagzezerox dun sa labas ng Bldg. )

ReplyDeleteI'm a little bit confused. You mentioned before that you do need the CFO certificate if you will visit your boyfriend (not fiance or husband) in his country, in my case it's Norway. I have the short term visa kinda like tourist visa. How come you don't need the CFO Certificate then if you travel to a different country like Thailand for holiday. Isn't that as a tourist also?
I went to Sweden for a tourist visa year 2013 to meet my husband na boyfriend ko palang dati..(hindi namn ako hinanapan ng CFO certificate) you don't need CFO certificate po kung sa thailand ka pupunta for vacation/ holiday/ tourist.. UNLESS po doon ka na sa thailand or sa norway mag mimigrate o titira o yung BF/asawa mo taga thailand..

Hello Michelle! I'm a finnish citizen and we just got a visa type c for my filipina girlfriend. I tried to readthe questions and comments but my tagalog is not that good yet that I would have understood everything so I decided to ask this myself in English. Does my girlfriend need to attend The CFO seminar when she is only going to visit me and my country (Finland) for a short period of time? There is no plans for getting married or migrating in this visit so is the CFO really needed? Thank you for your answer already! We have been visiting many Asian countries together but never had any Cfo thing so that's why it confuses us.
ReplyDeleteope she don't need it for a type C visa....( 90 days right? around 3 months to be exact ..and you can extend it for another months). Those who obtain passports to travel on visitor visas, shopping in neighboring countries, tourism, etc....do not need the CFO seminar certificate or a CFO sticker ... :) Its normally REQUIRED for a person is leaving the Philippines on an immigrant, fiancee, or employment based visa.
DeleteI had my type C visa before when I visit my boyfriend (3 months) which is my husband now * haha just to share lol ..here in Sweden and they didn't required me to get my CFO certificate.. what i know is that its not required for a tourist visa unless your gf will going to migrate and live with you na...residence visa i mean ;)
what I remember i had before are my plane ticket (two-way) /my type C visa/ my boyfriends document like a copy of his passport / his statement of account /bank statement and invitation letter) hahaha and they asked me in the immigration in the ph airport if my boyfriend would be the one who will sponsor all my expenses and I said YES! .. and the rest is now history lol :D hope I explain it well :) good luck

Wala po akung work but I have bank account po to show to BI and proof of genuine relationship to my boyfriend such as photos together and with my family and been together for almost 3 years. Ikot na po namin ang pinas kaya gusto namin mag travel out of the Phil naman it's gonna be my first time to travel abroad. So ask ko lang po kung enough na po ba yung documents ko to present to BI kinakabahan po kasi ako ayaw ko ma sayang ang effort at pera ng boyfriend ko pag na offload ako pabalik balik na sya dito every 2 months. Magseminar muna sa CFO .. dahil if magrerenew na sxa ng passport at gagamit na nya ang apelyido ng kanyang asawa.. hahanapin sa kanya yung CFO certificate sa dfa pag nagrenew sxa.. kaya better get the certificate first kasi makakakuha namn sxa kagad nun..

Thank you for all your help. I am married to a USC of 19 years now. I came to the Philippines to finalize my legal status in the USA, I now have my passport/visa. I had no idea that i had to do the CFO seminar.

I did not know that we had to report the marriage to the Philippine Embassy in Los Angeles, We will do it once i’m back.
My passport is still under my maiden name.
I only have a copy of our Marriage Certificate. The original is in the Visa Packet, which we all know we must not open
I have pictures of us, husbands birth certificate, husbands copy of his bio page/passport
anything else I should bring as proof that we are married or other supporting papers?
I only have a copy of my NSO birth certificate. The original is in the packet as well.
ID’s, Passport, NBI clearance, Local Police clearane, all with my picture, are these sufficient enough? I have an appointment on the 11th, I am even thinking of walking in and taking my chances.

Mag sschedule na po sana ako about sa GCP ng CFO kaso po nalilito ako kasi Japan citizen po husband ko, pero US destination po ung destination namin so, dapat po dba US ung seminar na aattend ako? Hindi ung Japan? Pano po un. Nag call po ako sa knla sbi nla, japan po dapat ung aattenan ko kasi on the proces pa po ung US visa ko, sabi nila lalagyan lg nila ng Sticker for us ung passport ko pagdating ng visa ko. Is it possible po? Naguguluhab po ksi ako. :(

actually I dont know po kung ano kailan sa DFA pag nagchange name sa passport kasi hindi ko pa po sxa nagagawa yun, still gamit ko paring apelyido is yung sa pagkadalaga ko kasi hindi na ako ngpalit pa ng apelyido sa passport ko maybe pagbakasyon ko nalng yun gagawin anyway!
Delete(but mostly need talaga ang CFO certificate at yung MC mo.. I think yan ang isa sa mga requirements once ngpalit ka ng passport) and if magpapaschedule ka na kumuha ng passport sa DFA alam ko nakasulat namn roon kung ano ang mga requirements and if need yang CFO certificate then Unahin mo yan.
Seminar from CFO ang unahin mo matatapos mo namn yan in just one day.. seminar certificate lang makukuha mo at dahil wala ka pang visa .. babalikan mo yung emigrant sticker mo once meron ka nang visa..

ReplyDeleteYup no worries.. about that po.. kasi yung passport po natin eh napapalitan yan meaning mayroong expiration date so the next time na magrenew ka ng passport mo pwed mo na palitan ng apelyido ng asawa mo .. while ang CFO cerrtificate at Emigrant sticker is WALA po yang expiration date.. for life na po yan kaya natural ang ilalagay nila is yung apelyido na ng may asawa ka..

in-explain yan samin nung nag seminar samin.. talagang ang inilalagay nila sa certificate at emigrant sticker is yung apelyedo na ng asawa mo :) kaya wag ka na mag alala ... dahil sooner or later mapapalit karin ng passport gamit ang apelyido ng asawa mo..

Im holding a tourist visa po and planned to meet my indian bf but unfortunately got offloaded bcoz IO as me a Cfo certificate. D q din po alam na i have to attend a seminar since tourist visa lng naman po ung visa q. And one thing po, we didnt meet personally pa po, is there a chance na makakuha aq ng certificate? ReplyDeleteYup that is what I know po dahil kung lahat ng may tourist visa ang hawak ay need yan.. eh di lahat kailangang kumuha nyan which is hindi namn dahil base on my experience ..nakailang Tourist visa na ang nakuha ko at hindi naman ako hinanapan ng CFO nung umalis ako....

If you said sa IO officer na tourist ka..kung ano purpose ng travel mo they already know what they're doing that is why hinanapan ka ng CFO.

May certificate na po ako ng CFO. Sticker nalang po ang kulang.. kailangan ko pa bang magseminar ulit para magkasticker?

ReplyDeleteSayang po ngayun ko lng nabasa blog nyu.miss mag tanung sana ako ksi nung 1st week of oct. Na accomplish namin ang req.for marriage tsaka nakakuha kmi ng legal capacity from indian embassy so nung OCT.9 po kaka kasal lng namin ng husband ko na indiano pag katapos ng kasal namin sa probinsya yung LCR napo ang nagproces o nag endorse ng Marriage license namin sa NSO after a days bago kmi bumalik ng manila nakuha namin sa Local civil registrar yung isang copy ng marriage license from LCR together with NSO at DFA sinama nya yung endorsement paper at reciept from LBC kasi baka hanapin.
so kinunan ako ng asawa ko ng round trip ticket saka nag book xa ng hotel sa pangalan ko tsaka tourist visa lng yung inaply nya sakin ksi d nya pa alam kon anung visa ang dapat. Akala namin ok na lahat na papers d naman namin alam na kailangan pala ng mag undergo ng CFO.
nung oct 21 aalis na sana kmi na undergo kmi interview sa IO na lalaki at sinusuri yung papel namin ok na sana yun kaya lng nung huli pumasok yung IO na babae at sinabi na kababago lng ikinasal makaka kuha agad ng NSO tsaka DFA fake yan last minute na yun nag kaka problema so hindi ako pinayagan umalis at yung husband ko pina alis na nila subrang alala yung husband ko. sinabihan pa kmi ng IO na babae pag namimilit dw kmi i ba blocklist nila yung asawa ko.pa invistigahan dw nila yung M.L namin sa NBI.
so kina bukasan pumunta ako ulit sa NSO manila main at nag apply ng marriage license kung na endorse naman dw from LCR marelesan ako this NOV.10.
kaya ngayunpo nag aalala yung husband ko kasi pag bumalik xa dito sa phil. Mapupunta lng xa sa jail kung hindi pa namin ma aayus.

About namn sa IO sadyang mahigpit sila at "sinabi sayo na ang bilis mo nakakakuha kagad ng MC mo ".. kasi ang totoo nyan eh talgang matagal ang pagkuha ng MC sa NSO minsan nga umaabot ng buwan bago marelease at sabi mo nga kakasal nyo lang nung OCT 9 so sobrang bilis nga namn talga kaya siguro nagtaka yung officer at naquestion ka.
tska dapat ireport nyo yung kasal nyo sa dfa ba yun or sa embbasy ng India.. Im not so 100% sure about it kung preho ng process kasi sa pinas ka kinasal ako namn eh sa ibang bansa ako kinasal so inreport namin yung kasal namin sa Phil embassy dito... hindi ko alam kung pareho ba ng process kung sa pinas kinasal. Try to inquire sa Indian embassy para malaman mo kung ano ang process nila kasi hindi ko talga alam kung pareho ba.

ReplyDeletePossible ba na mahold ako if di ko alam ang education background ng asawa ko kasi wala nmn akong diploma n hawak nya. Tpos xa ng high school and took up culinary kaso di nya napshan yun exam. Ano b dpat ko ilagay sa educ background ng asawa ko? I have all documents, visa, family book... mc from nso my ids as well. S asawa ko birth certicate and photocopy of his passport.
