Visingsö Slott - Visingsö, Sweden

Semester time!Yippie 💃💃(so as you can see its me and Matthias, we're dancing with so much joy! Lol!) Well, don't be confused if I always say SEMESTER 😉 yeah! I know! it sounds weird that I'm happy about the word "Semester" right? Lol!  Because it only means schooling session in my home country but here in Sweden "SEMESTER" means VACATION!

But let's talk about our semester again where we spend one whole day tour in Visingsö Island. This Island is located in southern half of Sweden's second largest lake called Lake Vättern. It is 30 kilometers north of city Jönköping and it take us 2hrs drive to get there. There you can see lots of  beautiful scenery, relaxing nature and amazing wildlife. A perfect summer destination too here in Sweden.

You can also see the ruins of Visingsö slott/Visingsborg Castle (picture above) and Näs castle, which was the residence for the Swedish monarchy in the 12th and 13th centuries. In able to visit the island you need to ride a boat between Gränna and Visingsö that leaves regularly especially on a summer months and takes around 25 minutes ride. You can also bring your car on the ferry but you need to book your place in advance.

While on board, the ferry is really nice and you can sit comfortably inside or just enjoy a boat trip out on the deck. (picture above is the beautiful summer view of Lake Vättern).

This Island is well suited for a bike ride, bikes are available for rent at several places so you can enjoy the whole place.

Take a trip with the island's popular horse-drawn carriages called Remmalagen (picture above), and visit Kumlaby Church and get up in the tower via the staggering stairs (picture below).

They say you can go up in the church tower from where you have an excellent view over Visingsö. Even though the church were closed that day and we didn't get a chance to experience it still the view outside the church is amazing and peaceful!

There are so many thing you can do in the island you can visit one of the restaurants there, rent a bike to discover the island from the saddle, you can camping with your friends, stroll in the lakes, check in a nice hotel or simply do a day tour (just like what we did). Although it sound so nice I wound't recommend the day tour because the time is so limited and rush (traveling there consume already your time so you need to rush in everything). In able to enjoy fully the whole Island is that you need to stay there for one day or two hehehe.

In the harbor you can discover Visingsborg castle ruins. Visingsborg Castle date from 1560s. It was square formed with a moat four towers. The Brahe Family lived in Visingsborg Castle during the 16th and 17th centuries. During their time it was one of the most impressive buildings in Sweden. Sculptures and paintings embellished the walls and a large number of books filled the library. The castle also had an armoury that equipped up to 800 soldiers. Outside the walls were large orchards and gardens.The Visingsborg Castle was empty for several years after the death of Count Per Brahe the Younger in 1680. Later, in the early 18th century, it was used as a camp for Russian war prisoners. It is said that it was these prisoners who finally burnt down the castle in 1718. What is left today is only the left wing and now a there's lot of renaissance events are held there every year and is one of the many beautiful and historical things still on the island!

They also planted oak trees on Visingsö in the 17th century to provide strategically important timber for future ship construction. (You can see lots of it if you ride the horse-drawn carriages) The timber is now ready but no longer required for ship construction. Consequently, Visingsö is partially covered by oak forests, the rest being farmland. If you’re ever a tourist here, make sure you don’t miss it! It so beautiful. Visingsö has a lot to offer! We will return back next semester and we'll make sure to stay there for a couple of days hehe! Till next time guys!!

Creative Mind: My D.I.Y Kiwi Lip Scrub 💋

August 📝!! our last month of SUMMER here in SE!! yep it's real!!! Swedish fall start from September to October so  it only means that dark season rather COLD season will come pretty soon ❄ . In this time of the year also we are really prone to have a dry skin from head to toe especially on our lips 💋  which I really don't like at all.

Luckily, we can take care of our lips now with some homemade lip scrub 😉  so why buy expensive lip scrub if you can make it at home right?  just explore your kitchen.

My Kiwi Lip Scrub

While it is easy to notice dry skin on our body like our legs and arms and even our scalp, we often forget that our lips are skin too. Our lips need to exfoliate, treated and moisturize too because when cold and dry weather is ON, our lips are completely dry and easily become chapped  and rough.

Your homemade lip scrub can be flavored to your own specifications or whatever fruits you have at home. Since I have Kiwi at home I decided to use it as a flavor of my lip scrub 😉. Also, I search online that Kiwi is a great natural exfoliant.

Lets Start Making KIWI Lip Scrub:

You only need three ingredients to make your own homemade lip scrub 

🌻 Sugar (normal sugar)
🌻 Coconut oil (Kung Markatta Kokosolja Virgin)
🌻 Kiwi  (you can use half of it or it depends if you only want to make small amount of lip scrub)
Just mix them all together until well combined (mashed your kiwi, coconut oil and sugar)

I use half of the Kiwi because I want to make big amount of scrub

I use 4 tbsp of sugar in order to achieve the right consistency that is paste look like!

1 tbsp of coconut oil is enough

I just mix them all together and put it in a small container.

Notes:

You can use this scrub on your face and neck, too! It makes a really great face scrub!

How to use:

Apply a small amount to your finger. Using your finger,  gently rub your lips in small circular motions for about 30 seconds to loosen the dead skin cells. Just to remind you guys! that our lips is very sensitive so, if you rub the sugar too hard on it, it can chap your lips. Be gentle hehe

Rub off with a washcloth or paper towel. You don't need to wash it with water since it has coconut oil that serve as moisturizer 👍

It works well on me and I really like the smell and the taste of it. I have been using it so much now 😉 . 

Look the difference before and after I use my lip scrub! My lips looks alive and healthy than before hahaha! I feel it also moisturized and soft!

If the weather is so hot, keep in a cool place but do not refrigerate it  because it can make it hard  for future use LOL. I know it will last long for a week because I use coconut oil on it.

I will recommend you to make your own lip scrub at home. Simple, effective, fun and cheap! You can save money than buying it every month. You can also use it daily, but you'll most likely find that you don't need to do it that often because it is really effective in just one use. I will show you next time when I use it as my facial scrub 😉

H&M Matte Lipstick in Lennox Lounge💄 - Review

H&M Matte lip colour in the shade of Lennox Lounge

How sad is it when you accidentally leaves your favorite lipstick 💄 inside the car and discover that it was melted due to the extreme heat. Did you also experience that? Me too!! twice 😂 So what else I can do is to buy a new one 😊

Luckily! I was able to drop by to a local H&M store here in  my place to look around  and then I saw that they had a little cosmetic stand so I went over to look for new nice shade of lipstick which I badly need one! After a couple of minutes swatching all the shades they have I managed to find a colour that I couldn't resist taking home and for only 99.9 SEK Swedish krona I was able to get this H&M Matte lip colour in the shade of Lennox Lounge. (picture below)

Yves Rocher is a well known French cosmetic brand and they have wide range of different skin care product which I have been trying to use for the past month now 😊. My order from them arrived a few days ago and I am really excited to show you guys what I've got!

My first KATE SPADE MINI BAG - Review

Hello ladies! my today's post would be my new Kate Spade MINI bag 😉. Yup! I'd been eyeing to get a new bag for quite some time now and I feel that this is the best month to purchase a new one. Lately, I've have been always carrying around me my big bag (cross body) which I know is very helpful for me this whole summer and yeah! I carry a lot as in a lot!! hehehe😜. I have summer essentials, water, laptop and school stuffs that I carry everyday on my bag which was giving me a backache and a little hurt on my shoulders so I preferably wanted something smaller, definitely lighter and possibly something hands free this semester break! (I hope *crossedfinger! it will help me minimized to carrying bunch of stuffs! I mean the whole house hehe *just kidding!).

To cut the story short! I purchased it online! There were 3 different color to choose from and I decided to get the Nouveau Neutral that I can say it is Lila in shade because I felt it was so different and clean. So the box came! Grr! As you can tell! I'm not satisfied when I received my parcel/box because as you can see (picture below) damage box!😠. I always buy in Zalando but this is the first time ever! I have received a box like this LOL!
