Hello Superfriends! In today's video I created some dried citrus fruits ornaments! I also use our left over gingerbread cookie as an ornaments. This is a simple and very affordable idea this coming holiday season, so if you are looking for an alternative decors this one is for you.
Usually you can use the dried orange slices all year around not only during Christmas season as long as you stored it in a sealed food bag and they were fine. It is very easy and inexpensive item to add to a flower arrangement on parties, birthday and also in a wedding receptions. Dried orange slices make the arrangement easily fit into an informal decoration like a kitchen scene or a window garland. They also work well in a bowl, sitting on a table or counter, with other fruit and vegetable items.
-Citrus fruits: Oranges and lemons
-twigs/Sticks
-safety pins
-Ribbon /or/ Twine
-Gingerbread cookies
I got pinecones outside our garden and I washed and clean it.
Oven temp: 120C Cooking time: 4-5 hours - flipping half way through (although you can also judge this by eye and how dry they feel)
I also use our leftover gingerbread cookie and it turned out so nice and cute! It also gives the aroma of Christmas season which I really like. If you like you can buy the cheapest gingerbread cookie you can find in store and use it but since it is "TIPID Christmas" decor might as well stick on your old ones ;). (see picture below)
☀ Instructions:
1. Slice your oranges approx 1cm wide.
2. Blot them with paper towel or kitchen towel.
3. Place on a them in a rack (if you put them on a tray they will *really* stick)
4. Put it in the oven at approx 120C
5. Leave for 4-5 hours. Turn 2-3 times and keep checking on them.Turning (especially at the beginning) them will prevent them sticking from the rack.
6. Once cooled, add a ribbon and hang!
