MY MIDSUMMER FLOWER GEL MANI 2019

 What is Midsummer all About?

Swedish Midsummer traditions are thought to have their roots in pre-Christian, sun-worshipping cultures. The time of year around the summer solstice, when the darkness of night is replaced by a magical twilight, would have held special significance for people in northern climes. Despite later attempts by the church to transform Midsummer into an entirely Christian festival, it’s the pagan symbols that have stood the test of time. 

Women and young children still put wild flowers in their hair, and communities across the country still decorate phallic midsommarstänger, or maypoles, for people to sing and dance around. 

The best known of all the songs performed is Små Grodorna (Small Frogs). Its lyrics (The little frogs, the little frogs, are funny to observe/No ears, no ears, no tails) have very little to do with Midsummer, but nobody seems too worried.

The successful midsummer never-ending lunch party formula involves flowers in your hair, dancing around a pole, singing songs while drinking unsweetened, flavoured schnapps. And downing a whole load of pickled herring served with delightful new potatoes, chives and sour cream. All in all, a grand day out. 

 When is Midsummer? 

Originally June 24th. Now Midsummer Eve is celebrated between June 20th-25th. Midsummer is the 22nd of June 2019. 

 Where can you celebrate Midsummer? 

Skansen, public parks, gardens, summer cottages, in fact, anywhere in Sweden will do as long as it is outdoors! 

 So I made this midsummer gel mani video as to celebrate the Midsummer! :)

[WATCHinHD] Hello Superfriends!  I'm back sa balakubak! nagluto ako ng siomai with a twist!  It is non other than SAYOTE. I know na kakaiba siya pero masarap! Sana itry nyo ang munti kong recipe.. magugustuhan nyo talga ito masarap na healthy pa. 

Pork Siomai is a traditional Chinese dumpling that made its way to the heart of the every Filipino’s. You can easily find it everywhere whether in any restaurant, food stall, and street food. It is also good for meryenda or movie time, sometimes I serve it as a finger food for a party (If you are a Filipino, you know that we occasionally have heavy finger food while drinking and siomai is one of that 😉). 

It is traditionally cooked through steaming, but nowadays they also served it fried complemented with chili soy sauce with calamansi. Yums!

How To Switch Back To Old Classic Editor in WordPress

I just recently noticed that Wordpress was upgrade to a new version and it  brings a lot of changes including a new Gutenberg editor. The new version replaces the good old Classic Editor that we have been using for years.  Seriously, the new post editor is not a user-friendly and because of that I feel more discourage not to post anymore. I even tell myself to give the new version another try but the more I try to use it the more it irritates me . LOL!

What you need to know about the new Gutenberg:

Gutenberg is a sleek and modern block-based editor that completely alters the way posts and pages are created. But it’s still in its early days. Some bloggers and writers don’t like it because they are not familiar with it while others think the block-based editor is way more complex than the classic editor.

Well! I'm not sure what are the purpose of that block format or how it is an improvement. I prefer to have all of my options along the top menu like the old editor, rather than having to search the side menu or scroll, and then click through the dropdown menu.  It is taking me longer to do things that used to be instant before. I admit! I'm not an html or program-savy person that is the main reason why I find it hard to use. I like to be able to have a control over my entire post where I can see all the tabs and menu (let say it old school 😀 LOL!)  Time consuming I must say!

Because of that, I search online if  I can disable the Gutenberg editor and get back to the old Classic Editor that I love without getting my whole page compromise. And Yes!! Good news guys!, the WordPress team allows you to disable Gutenberg and switch back to the old Classic Editor and they have made it pretty simple.
