Today I will be making my own homemade UBE BARS! Simple recipe and so yummy! UBE BAR is a Filipino favorite snack that we can buy at the bakery, sari-sari store, or with the maglalako. They are made of baked bread dipped in sweet purple yam or ube syrup then coated in desiccated coconut.
#EasyUbeBarRecipe #PilipinoBread #Pinay
☕️ Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1 cup sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
¾ cup (185 g) butter - room temp.
1 tsp of vanilla (optional)
1 ¼ Milk or evap
1 can condensed milk
3 Tbsp Water (for ube syrup)
1 Tbsp Ube flavoring McCormick
Ube extract
Toasted desiccated coconut
☕️ Instructions:
Start by making the dough. Pre-heat oven to 340F or 170C.
In a large bowl, combine butter, flour, baking powder, milk and vanilla. Mix well until fully combined and a dough is formed.
Place the dough in a baking pan lined with parchment paper. Stretch it evenly using your hands, a spoon, or a spatula.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated 350F /170C oven (Baking time and temperature depends on the oven you used)
Remove from the oven and transfer it to a wire rack. Let it cool and cut into rectangles or bars.
UBE SYRUP. In the meantime, combine condensed milk, ube extract and water in a medium saucepan on medium heat.
Toasted desiccated coconut in pan and heat it over medium-low heat for 3-6 minutes.
ASSEMBLY. Slice your completely cool bread into bars. Dip them in the ube condensed milk mixture then roll in coconut. Repeat for all the bars.
Enjoy!

Christmas is on its way and so as my Handmade Organic Laundry Soap. This soap smells really good and at the same time you can also use it as a dishwashing soap! best combo ever!. Bagay na bagay itong pang giveaways sa kasal, binyag, housewarming, despedida at lalo na ngayong darating na PASKO. Subukan mo ring gawing business π. Pangbusiness ba kamo? pang kabuhayan showcase ba kamo? kumikitang kabuhayan? tara nood na!.
So here I am sharing you all guys the result of my organic soap making experience, what a fulfilling feeling when you saw your soap looking perfect when you removed it out from the mold.
In this soap recipe I only used oil which is coconut oil, as you all know that coconut oil is an excellent moisturizer for both skin and hair which is really good in making a bar of soap. The properties of the coconut oil also help remove dead skin cells and dirt away from the body. A clean coconut soap with minimal grease is highly cleansing and leaves no oily skin, and works absolutely fantastic as a dishwashing detergent, as a hand wash (enzyme-free!), As a stain remover on clothes and as a general, super-effective cleaning agent.
Pure coconut soap tracks quickly, so be prepared to pour it up quickly. It hardens in just an hour, so it can be good to make the soaps in molds with ready-made soap sizes, so that you do not have to make sure that they do not become too hard to cut.
Bili na kayo Chos!!! LOL So lets start making this soap!
INGREDIENTS:
284.0 g Water
110.0 g Lut NaOH, Sodium Hydroxide
OILS / FATS:
606.0 g Coconut Oil
8 g essential oil lavender
RECIPE DETAILS:
Total amount of oils / fats: 606.0 g
Of which:
Coconut oil: 60.6%
π
You can check the recipe here:
https://www.organicmakers.se/ekologisk-tvatt-och-disktval-sa-har-gor-du-den-sjalv/
RECIPE DIRECTIONS:
π STEP ONE
Make the Lye Solution and don’t forget to wear protective gloves and eye-wear (goggles), carefully pour the (sodium hydroxide) into the distilled water until dissolved. REMEMBER : Always add NaOH (Lut,sodium hydroxide) in small portions to water, NEVER pour water over NaOH (Lut,sodium hydroxide). Work in an area with good ventilation and be careful not to breathe in the fumes. The lye solution will get very hot, so set it aside to cool down. I prepare mixing it an hour before and totally leave it to cool down completely.
π STEP TWO
Prepare your oils as what the required weight, then pour the cooled lye solution into your oils (my oils is in room temperature). Use immersion blender until it thickens and reaches trace. Trace is when the soap has thickened enough so when you drizzle a small amount of your batter across the surface, it will leave a visible imprint which they called “trace”. Trace can take a minute or so, depending on how warm your ingredients are and how much you use your immersion blender. You can now add you essential oils and other additive you’d like to add on your soap.
π STEP THREE
As soon as the batter starts to thicken (trace), stop mixing and pour into the molds. Let solidify on a sore surface, just in case.
Now our soap is finish! it should go through gel phase and harden so wrap the mold with some insulating material like bath tower or baking paper or blanket, so that the heat that develops will work properly. Peek at the soap every so often; if it starts developing a crack or what so ever hehe, uncover and move it to a cooler location.
π STEP FOUR
This is my first time stamping a soap and I know it is not perfect but I love how it turned out. As they say practice makes perfect!. For stamping : position the stamp on the bar of soap then firmly press it into the surface, make sure that all four corners are evenly pressed. If you try to stamp a test bar of soap and the soap sticks to the stamp – it needs more cure time. Try waiting 12 to 24 hours and trying again.
π STEP FIVE
Cure it in a cooling racks or sheets of wax paper for about 4-6 weeks before it is safe to use. The soap is safe to touch without gloves 48 hours after making it, but it still needs extra time to allow excess moister to evaporate out so the bars will become harder and last long in your shower. Pure coconut soap matures and hardens quickly. The washing and dish soap is ready to start using after about a day, but has hardened as best as possible after about a week and beyond. (It lasts and lasts for as long as you like…)
If you are thinking about making your own homemade soap, do it! I highly recommend it.It doesn’t matter if you’re never made a soap before ..just enjoy it and experience it with your own hands! Its fun and easy.
It is just for entertainment purposes only. Don’t do this without research and learning the safety rules. (Watch my youtube video down below to see how I make it this Organic Laundry Soap.)
