Sopas Recipe/ Chicken+Macaroni Soup

Oh My deaR SopaS!. I call it chickwen sopas and this dish is really easy to cook and best when the weather is cold. My all time favorite hot bowl especially when it’s raining. Easy to prepared and less expensive for me too hehe. I just recently cooked sopas when typhoon Juan hits Luzon and by that I was thinking about to post it on my blog hahaha as a food blog… (kunwari food blog!!!).

Seriously, I really like to cook naman, ewan ko lang ba at bakit ngayon ko lang naisipan magblog about food mybe because I was not that confident enough to share my food trip hehe tsaka take note im not an official cook or a certified chef to post something about food naman diba :), so I might not do things on the right way all the time that's why im bit confused..anyway I can assure you that, all food I cooked was suitable for eating and really safe beside di pa sila nagrereklamo hahaha..:)

I just want it to share it already to all my friends over my multiply about my sopas way of cooking hehe so i just pase it nalng here at my blogger since never ko pang na-update itong site.

FYI: just did it as one of my bored time experience lol.. anyway back again in my sopas.. lol I cooked it many times and still hoping that I can perfectly cook it the way is it.. :0)

So guys if use any wrong cooking terminologies or stuff ... sorry po... hope i could be able to share it lol
Anyway, here are the ingredients for the Chicken Sopas:;-)
  • chicken breast is best-Pitso lalo na yung mabuto, but any part should be okay too
  • 3-4 cups water
  • 1 chicken stock cube
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, crushed/minced
  • 1 tsp cooking oil (but for me I prefer butter para mabango po :))
  • 1 cup small shell pasta*
  • 1 carrot, cubed (as in, small cubes)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk (yung malabnaw)
  • salt and pepper (panimpla)
  • 1 tsp fish sauce, aka patis (kung gusto lang naman :))
  • * elbow macaroni po gamit ko..., and my mom said pwede rin daw yung shell pasta .You can use either macaroni or the shell pasta po bsta kung ano meron sa kusina ninyo lol :)

Step-by-Step Cooking:
  1. Boil the chicken in the water.  If you like timplahan nyo na po ng salt and pepper  o kaya lagay nyo narin kagad yung chicken cubes J
  2. Once the chicken is cooked, take it out of the water and save the water as a stock to be use later on. Shred or to slice your chicken and after that set it aside.
  3. In a large saucepan, heat the butter half about 1 tbsp. Add the garlic and saute until slightly brown, then add the onions.
  4. Add the shredded chicken.
  5. When the chicken is slightly brown, add the water (chicken stock)
  6. When the water boils, add the pasta. Make sure that there’s enough water left for the pasta to cook. Just keep adding 1/2 cup of plain water (preferably hot), if/when needed. Make sure that you have enough liquid for a soup.
  7. As soon as the pasta is ‘al dente’ (not quite cooked, but already softened), add the carrots and stirr. Add the chicken stock cube, if preferred.
  8. After 2-3 minutes, add the shredded cabbage. Keep stirring.
  9. Add the egg. Make sure that you stir and break the egg po – so you don’t get one lump of egg in your soup.
  10. Once the egg is “stirred in” the soup, slowly add the milk and keep stirring. Remember not to add the milk all at once and you must stir, stir, stir. Otherwise, the milk might “curdle”. And, that’s not a pretty sight!
  11. When you’ve successfully added all the ingredients, check if you need to add salt and/or pepper. I you like fish sauce you can use that too.
  12. You can now enjoy your chicken sopas
You can eat sopas on its own. But, some people might like to eat it with rice and or with bread just like me .All I know is that it definitely hits the spot when you are feeling nippy or cold. And, depending on how much you eat, this should be okay for 3 to 4 servings.
